Nellie’s Newborn PhotoShoot at 8 days
Welcome to Shy Violet Photography – Specialists in Newborn and Baby Photoraphy.
The Newborn baby stage is such a very special time to capture your precious newborn baby and my very favourite time is between 6 and 12 days as this is a wonderful age as a rule to capture the gorgeous, sleepy curled up shots that we all love. Up to 2 weeks is preferred but my Newborn Baby PhotoShoots go up to babies who are 4 weeks young but if your baby is slightly older and still sleeping well after feeds, please feel free to call me to discuss.
If you have not yet had your baby, I do reccommend that you book in for your Newborn Baby Photoshoot based on your due date and then if this changes, we move your Newborn shoot date. You do not lose your deposit if we do have to rearrange.
My Newborn baby photo shoots are very relaxed – you will not be kept waiting – you will be straight in and I make you a brew and we can have a chat about what you’d like from your photo session. My studio is designed to make you feel relaxed and comfortable with lots of soft seating – and also offer chairs next to the newborn shoot area so that you can be and feel involved all the time.
I offer the natural shots on blankets with and without props … through to the more creative Newborn Art images. Examples of which can be seen in the gallery of images – Click here. OR visit my Facebook page for lots more ideas and images …. also too my Instagram account – which is ShyVioletPhotography. ALL outfits and props are provided and incuded in the package prices. I do not over-edit newborn images, but Callie’s mum asked for a very minimal edit leaving her newborn as natural as possible (pics below).

Ilaria and her family joined me at Shy Violet Photography to celebrate Ilaria’s 1st birthday with a cake smash … which I call our ‘HAPPIMESS’ 3-in1 1st Birthday Cake Smash photoshoot. This incudes the ‘ONE’ wooden letters shoot at the start, the cake smash, followed by the tub and bubbles photoshoot
It’s just the best and fun way to celebrate the 1st Birthday…. Letting your little ones loose on a big bright and very gooey cake – what could be more fun? Watching their excitement, smiles and reactions and capturing them on camera is priceless.
Ilaria’s mum and dad chose a very colourful set and Ilaria just loved her photoshoot … quite delically at first but then she got struck into the cake and made us all laugh lots throughout the shoot, She absolutely loved sitting on her cake!! Pics below.

Welcome to Shy Violet Photography…the home of Professional Baby Photos; I specialise in Newborn, Baby (from 5-6 months) and the 1st Birthday Cake Smash.
I just love the 5-6 months age as it’s such a wonderful time to capture their personality, smiles and giggles. Your baby is learning to sit up and although perhaps not able to sit up unaided, we have baby chairs that can help with this, and PhotoShop which can edit out parents’ arms making sure they don’t fall. And at this age, personality is really taking shape and it’s an age I just really love to photograph.
My studio baby photo shoots are very relaxed in a lovely warm, bright and airy environment, specially designed so that it looks like a soft play area for your baby – soft toys and props are on show in the studio so you have lots of choice for your photoshoot.
For your Photoshoot for your baby girl or baby boy … I provide chairs, suitcases, pails and other props such as ‘rocking horse’, hats, balloons …. lots and lots of choice for you … many of which can be seen in the gallery of images on the Baby Photo Shoot Page – click here to view.
We also have unique little vintage outfits which are specially made for Shy Violet Photography only (shown below) … all for girls at the moment, but boys outfits are being made for us too.
On arrival, we discuss the shots that you’d like before we start. “Offering beautiful Natural and Creative Maternity/Pregnancy/Bump photography capturing this very special time in your life”
Between 28-36 weeks is the best time for a Pregnancy / Maternity photoshoot – This is when expecting mothers can enjoy the photo shoot and can still move around with the growing baby snug inside and when bump is full and round.
Our Pregnancy / Maternity photoshoots can be all about you and ’bump’ or family members can join in for a few shots too. We have props and gowns which we offer at no extra charge, and you are welcome to bring your own clothes and props too. We love the images which include the scan pic so always a good idea to bring one or 2 of these with you.
We offer the very natural maternity photography, plus the more creative side with butterflies, billowing material and chiffon – examples of which are shown in our image gallery. We would have a chat about your requirements prior to the shoot in our very informal, warm and relaxing studio.

Her mum and I got together to create a bit of a different set up with garlands and butterflies as we as balllons and pompoms … I love and welcome new ideas from customers.

Khaira was not the biggest fan of the cake smash – she seemed a little overwhelmed at times but she still had a fab time and we go some supercute pics – a few shown below.
