We are always suprised when people ask us ‘what’s a cake smash?” We have been doing the 1st Birthday cake smash for over 7 years and now call our sessions the 3-in-1 ‘Happimess’ session as we do 3 shoots as one.
We’ve changed the way we do things alot during these 7 years and now offer lots of choice in cakes, colour schemes and themes. Below are pics of Ollie in his Monster Themed Cake Smash.
Of course, if the idea of your baby getting covered in gooey cake is not your idea of a good time, then we do have lots of other ideas to commemorate the 1st Birthday, so please get in touch to discuss.
Our Happimess session starts with the ‘I am ONE shoot, where we get your little one to pose with giant O, N and E letters and/ or smaller cream wooden ones. We also have a large flowery ‘1’ for the girls.
This is then followed by the Cake Smash with a big bright and beautiful personalised cake made especially for you in a choice of colours. And our cake smash sessions are not for you if you don’t like alot of mess! ~But remember, it’s our mess to clear up.
We then finish with our Rub-a-Dub shoot which is where we wash off all that cake in our posing roll top baby bath with bubbles. Click here to go to our Cake Smash Image Gallery.
This usually lasts around an hour and 15 mins, depending on how much your baby is loving it all. And what’s not to love – these sessions are seriously great fun for everyone … including me!

Page through the image gallery and the packages can be found after all images … Each package includes a 9”personalised cake made extra soft and gooey and very yummy, in a choice of colours. Cupcakes and themed cakes can be arranged and prices can be provided on request. We cater for all allergies and dietary requirements.
Following your photo session with Shy Violet Photography, a Gallery of images will be online for 3 weeks on our Customer Only GALLERY website where you will be able to view your images in the privacy of your own home, and as many times as you like.
There are no hidden costs, there is nothing more to pay if you book one of our packages, unless of course you would like additional images – you can request to see these prices prior to booking.
